Find the best makeup artists in DC & mobile hair stylists who will perfect for your wedding day
Are you currently in the tedious process of filtering through Weddingwire & Knot, looking for the best makeup artists in DC or a mobile hair stylist for your upcoming wedding? I have heard brides tell me that the search is exhausting, especially because all the vendors on Weddingwire & Knot have great reviews. It is true. DC has a very competitive wedding market. To stay in the wedding industry the vendors HAVE to be really good. So it is not false advertisement. The vendors are really just that good!!
So how do you find a vendor who is not just the best, but the best for you? Here is my 5 step process, geared towards finding a hair & makeup artist (or other wedding vendors) who are perfect for you.
1) Start your search on Weddingwire & Knot. Look for a vendor with 20+ reviews on either site. Stay away from vendors who have too many reviews (over 200+). Choose 10-15 vendors with great reviews & who seem interesting to you at first glance.
2) Browse the work of these 10-15 vendors more extensively via Instagram and Pinterest. Their pictures can dictate if their style is similar to your own. Narrow your search down to 5-7 vendors, whose work and pictures you like the most.
3) Go on to the websites of these 5-7 vendors. A well put together website is a sign of dedication & care for one's trade. Choose 3-4 vendors whose websites speak volume to you.
4) Contact these 3-4 vendors. Assess their response time and the professionalism in their responses.Set up an appointment (Hair & Makeup trial) with 2 of these vendors, with whom you had the best interactions. During your trial, take tons of pictures and see how you get along with the vendor.
5) Compare the pictures & experiences of both trials once you get home. Wait 24 hours before signing a contract. This is the best way to avoid buyer's remorse. Then all you have to do is wait for your wedding day, to show off your fabulous hair & makeup do.
